Vela — Brand Identity, 2025
Mark & System
Identity for an independent production house: a V traced through the geometry of a film frame, one yellow, and a kit that runs from slates to pitch decks without ever needing a second logo.
Brand Design
Marks that age well.
Josie R. is a brand designer with a decade of identity work for creative and cultural clients. The work begins with drawing — marks, monograms, letterforms — and ends in systems simple enough for someone else to run.
Six years inside an identity consultancy left Josie with a lasting suspicion of guidelines nobody reads. Every system gets the same test before it ships: hand it to a stranger and see what they make with it.

Studio North — Brand Identity, 2024
Wordmark, monogram, north arrow and a single cobalt for a design studio moving out of its founder's name. Built to be unmistakable at the size of a wall and the size of a business card.
The Gannet — Identity, 2024
The identity that holds Diane G.'s illustrations together: a hand-lettered name, two colours taken from the harbour's painted doors, and rules short enough to fit on a postcard.
Independent Work — Ongoing
A sketchbook habit: one monogram a day, drawn by hand before anything is opened on a screen. Most of them are bad. The habit is the point.
Within the Collective
Josie typically leads identity work — marks, wordmarks, type systems and the rules that hold them together — and joins at the strategy stage, so the design answers the positioning rather than decorating it. Josie works closely with V. on the core idea and with the collective's strategists and writers, because a name and a mark are best made in the same room.
All project enquiries are handled by Creative Director V. through Influence Design Studio.
