Ted W. is a sound designer and composer for film, motion, and brand. Scores, sonic identities, and the small sounds that make a picture feel finished — the ones nobody notices until they're taken away.
Thirty years of recording things: first bands, then films, now mostly places. Ted would rather build a score out of the sound of the subject than write one on top of it.
Hollowell — Sound Design & Score, 2025
No voiceover. Recorded a working foundry — the furnace, the sand moulds, the grinding wheels — and built the film's score from those recordings, so it sounds like the place it was made in.
Tessel — Sound Design & Score, 2025
Scored a launch film using the product itself: recorded the prototype's drivers running test tones, then tuned the music to the speaker's own resonances.
Independent Work — Feature Film Score, 2024
Original score for an independent feature film, written for twelve strings and tape loops and recorded in two days.

The soundtrack to a documentary feature, released on vinyl by an independent label and built from recordings made on the farm the film follows.
Within the Collective
Ted typically leads sound on films and motion work, and sonic identity where a brand needs to be recognised with the screen off. Ted works with V. from before the shoot — sound is cheap to plan and expensive to fix — and with the collective's directors, editors and motion designers, so that picture and sound arrive finished together.
